FISH's services are possible only through community support, such as:
FOOD DONATIONS
FISH is very grateful for the generous yearly food drive donations and hard work of students, teachers and staff of the Howard County schools. Without them, the FISH pantry shelves would be empty. . . . .
We equally appreciate the year round generous food gifts from local faith and civic groups, scouts, businesses and individuals.
. . . . . . . .
Only continued community support keeps our panty full enough so that FISH volunteers like these can make food deliveries to our hungry neighbors . . . . . . . . .
How are FISH food drives different from others?
We are called FISH of Howard County because we serve our own home community. Not all food drives keep donated food in the local area. FISH feeds Howard County. Our program is also unique because our volunteers deliver a five-day food supply directly to clients' homes.
FINANCIAL DONATIONS (click Make A Donation tab)
When people donate money to a charity, they want to know that it goes to help people in need and not to pay the cost of excessive overhead and high-priced staff salaries. As an all-volunteer, non-profit organization (501(c)(3), operating out of donated space, FISH is proud of its low operating costs.
97% of donations go directly to those in need.
The remaining 3% covers basic costs such as telephone service, printing and postage.
UNITED WAY CONTRIBUTIONS
Your United Way donations can be designated to help FISH by simply writing FISH of Howard County, Inc. on your donor card. Your donation is fully tax deductible whether you give through United Way or send it directly to FISH.
MEMORIAL DONATIONS
The families we help will benefit if you remember FISH in your will, or when designating charities to commemorate the loss of family and friends.
